The truth is, that most of us rarely think about our facial expressions, arm and leg positions as well as hand gestures will be talking to people.
As you know already, your body language makes up around 60% of your total communication message. Therefore, if your body language is interpreted differently from the word you’re speaking, people tend to believe your silent, body language over the words you’re speaking.
Next time you get up to make a presentation, or talk to your team in a meeting, pay special attention to the way you’re sitting, with your legs are crossed, the position of your arms and even hands. Also, think about your facial gestures.
Over the next week, develop some greater self-awareness around your facial expressions and body language – especially if you want to be a better communicator.
