In order to be relevant in the marketplace, your company and you as a leader must invest in the training and development of your employees. It is usually the job that is organized through the whole company, with the support of HR consultants, but whatever is your specific situation, it still means you need to be on top of training and development of your employees. Training and development are learning processes closely linked to the employees’ performance, but there are some differences between them.
As a manager, you need to ensure that every member of the team is properly trained, but as a leader you need to constantly develop your people, through work, challenges, coaching and mentoring and anticipating the new needs of the marketplace. This way not only you and your team will have the competitive edge, but also your team will be motivated to work and grow with you.
